Houston was going to give grants for up to $3000 for prospective homeowners to pay off their credit cards to improve their credit scores. Have public officials just completely lost their minds?

The $444,000 proposed for the program is leftover money from a $1.5 million appropriation the city made for emergency home and roof repairs after Hurricane Ike.

God forbid you just put that $ back into the fund for when you're really gonna need it for something.
