Yeah... obviously should have been something like "America lead the world in the automobile's development and commercialization" or some such. But... as far as the "arrogance" meter goes... I see nothing 'arrogant' in the remark at all. (Certainly nothing that would come anywhere near the level of 'arrogance' of, say... a 'Mission Accomplished Banner' and a bomber jacket-clad ceremony on an Aircraft Carrier. <g>)
