You can? How? It seems to me proximity is the key issue. And that varies.

Because any solar plant that was capable of producing as much power as a nuke would be HUGE and require 10 to 100's of miles of interconnecting power cables from each solar array to the main junction.

Nuke just goes from the turbine/generator to the grid.
