No, that is wrong because taking responsibility is not "punishment," just like dodging responsibility is not "justice."


Okay. Is taking responsibility more important than the well being of the country? Is it better to make these people pay whether they are at fault or not, or is it better to try and help them stay in their homes so that the national housing market stabilizes?

How do you distinguish between those who were clearly irresponsible (e.g. Octomom) with those who were responsible but fell on hard times? The answer is that you can't, at least when it comes to bailing them out. That's a fact of government.

I think its fairly easy to distinguish between the irresponsible and the responsible. It didn't take very long to see that Octomom was irresponsible. I am sure a testing mechanism can be be set up to distinguish the responsible from the irresponsible. Would you oppose such a move?
