That will be a problem selling your silver bars or coins.

Dealers make the money but if and when you want too sell they offer you lots less thus making the spread both ways

With the coin shop guy i trust most, you just ask him 'how are Xxxxs', name of item, he says nothing, writes down both his buy and sell prices on a slip of paper, slides it to you across the counter ... you haven't said whether you're interested in buying or selling, you're just curious is all ... i've sold gold recently, effectively traded it for my favourite kind of silver, not with this fellow but with a contact arranged through him ... there is no problem selling metals, you just have to watch the spread, gauge the measure of each outfit by shopping around, same as with any other business

Two truckers just gave me their prices for hauling 900yds of material from one side of a small farm to the other, one price is slightly more than half again the other ... and the expensive guy is picky, wants to use his own machine to spread [at extra cost to me], to avoid a bit of waiting ... even the cheap guy is more expensive than my old trucker who has retired now ... it pays to shop around ... some find coin shops interesting places, i do, just go visit a few, be curious first, that's all

Some will bring their spreads way down if you get to know them, and you make it easy for them [deal in cash, be decisive, show up when they're not busy]

Oh my. Is it possible people are mistaken in their belief that all those gold coins stuffed away in safe deposit boxes will be readily accepted when worthless paper money isn't? Now there's a scary thought.

What about regional coin/gun shows as a place to buy or sell? I think I'll visit the next one I see advertised.

Platinum makes sense to me. The flood of Fed dollars should have some kind of effect, and it won't take much to move cyclical metals off the floor. I recently bought some TCK for about the same reason you bought SWC and IMPUY. China's on the prowl and TCK sure is cheap.
