I imagine there is a danger of cheats online, except that you can't use the same isp provider. That's detected. So, two computers in same locale on same isp won't work.

Also, in online poker, no casual observers can see all the hands. You would therefore need to have people at different locations in telephonic communication with each other. Hands time out so you can't stall indefinitely.

I'm hoping that the ban on using real money will be lifted. I started playing play money tournaments on one popular poker site on January 11, 2009. They give you $1000 in play money to start. I've been playing 10 table/90 person tourneys, with a $250 entry fee. These pay down to the 9th place. Since 1/11, I've run the $1000 starter up to around $92,000 in play money.

I figure that even if I played more conservatively with *real* money, I could do at least 1/2 as well.

Beats the stock market.<g>

I play for about an hour or so at night. I find it relaxing.
I also switch between the game and email or SI.
