I, as do many others I'm sure, appreciate the info you provided.

But why is it in AIPN's best interest to seek an immediate deal? Why not hold out until there are some "proven" numbers? The reasoning being used by many is that it's in the best interest of the large oil companies to JV immediately. Well, as a shareholder, that might not be in aipn's best interest. If there really is this much oil, and everyone knows this is the case, I would expect aipn to hold out and let the prices be bid up.

Please give me your logic why an immediate JV is in the best interests of aipn. It would seem that a small JV for a small slice for immediate cash might be the more prudent course for the longer haul.

And why do many of the bulls here only look at this situation as it benefits the majors? If we are all really so sure about everything why not discuss the situation from the perspective that benefits aipn (us) the most?

Oh, Cathy, Faris, it's nice to see a debate devoid of any personal hyperbole.

And I do have a life, wife and kid are at the inlaws shore house this weekend. I can assure you that such a visit is not in my top ten.

Farris: Thank you for that very good insight into the goings in Kazachstan. If I read you correctly, the current valuation of AIPN should be about 7 to 8 on the low side and 14 to 16 on the high? I take 70% of the 1.1 times $.5 to $1 per barrle and aboput 50 MM shares. Can you confirm or are some of my numbers outdated ?

FARIS

Enjoyed your post of details/insights from that D.C. meeting and re-cap our AIPN story. Perhaps what I posted in #3323 re:UnoCal/Amoco ties in with what you alluded to?
