After spending 10 years here on SI I can safely say that if you blended Alan Smithie and Oral Roberts you would get something pretty close to me. That presumed, I don't allow my kid to think that she can live the life similar to those she hangs out with that are from broken, albeit, financially prosperous families, where the now single mothers fear more lost love from their kids SOoooooooooooooo they let them do anything they want...... example....my kid got drunk at a friends house helped by the "look the other way" attitude of the mother....and then the kids decided to drive a few miles for snacks....and she got pulled over....age 18 BAC under for adult but way over for a 18 year old....had to take some classes and unbelievably....did not get ticketed for it. The mother plead.....stupidity....and I told her she's lucky she's not being arrested. And my kid thinks I'm a bit over the top. Yeah. TH
