<<As for investing style, everyone has his own. I'm not a short-term trader--don't have
the brains, skill, money, mentality, what-have-you to trade on a daily-, weekly-, or
monthly- basis and make a profit.
But when some of my stocks drop 15, 20 or 30 % in a month, I sure wish I was smart
enough to see it coming, or at least to cut my losses slightly.>>
Don't be too hard on yourself for not seeing this coming. To have done so would have required foreseeing an Intel disappoitment, a surprisingly bd miss by Seagate given no pre-announcement and the drop and chaos in the Dow along with the varuious Asian crisis.
After making through the usually difficult summer relatively unscathed, as we enter the stongest six months is not the time to be out of these stocks ordinarily. I have to give Paul Fox at Montgomery for having been very negatrive on WDC and the competitive situation for quite a while. I do wonder whether the drive companies will keep competition reasonable once we get past the strong season but Quantum's DLT is what keeps me in for awhile.
