To be fair, the Dems did well in the last eleciton...they won back both houses and put Obama in the WH....the public fatigue with Bush and the poor economy worked against the Repubs. I think it is fair to say that the Repubs were severely defeated. IMO, the Dems have taken a huge gamble on this "stimulus" bill. If it does not spark significant improvement in the next 6-9 months the midterm elections could present a real reversal of fortune for the Dems. But, in any event the demise of the Republican Party is no where on the horizon.... J.
