the fact that Wind and Solar get so much play is proof that they don't know WTF they are talking about.

I was in Denver this week at a Mining and Oil Exploration expo and was talking to a guy from texas who does the control systems for energy plants. He pointed out that texas has the most wind powered energy in the nation. But also that for a windfarm to be practical, there has to be a steady minimum 24mph wind. Well....last year the wind went quiet for 4 days and they were pretty much fucked. Wind and solar just aren't reliable sources of energy. They are at best a supplemental boutique source. Hydroelectric and nuclear are the only non-carbon burning sources that make much sense.
