(You actually keep a 'get out of jail free card' bookmarked post from November, 2004 ready at hand so you can flash it out to show that you really, really must have been fervently opposing budget-busting Bush's policies 'all along'?

Really?????

(You're kidding, right? I mean --- perhaps you are just pulling my leg?)

Your post from November delicately mentions that "Reining in spending should be an immediate priority." (While also claiming that "The economy has been recovering nicely" and that it "is time to stop spending additional incremental dollars".)

INCREMENTAL Dollars? That's as specific and bold as you got? (No percentages? No specific programs? No Big Ticket items? No comments about the budgetary flim-flam of all the "off-budget" spending... say $100 Billion ($140 Billion in this latest year) of off-budget spending on the wars... seven straight years of such... No Jeremiads about the deficit trend turning from beneficial to really bad?)

Re: "On the radio tonight on a show called Money Talk the host was took a caller who suggested the President strongly request the line item veto. Properly used it could slow the financial bleeding. I worry though, because President Bush has not vetoed anything no matter how bad it was."

OK, 'll admit it Peter!

Looks like you have been harboring a raging case of "B.D.S." all along now! (Must have been one 'o them "sneakin', creepin'" kind of secret illnesses....) 'Cause you sure slammed the ole Dubbya right there! <g>

(Apologies if my average 'satire level' is a wee bit high right now, Peter.... I *am* heavily caffeinated at this exact moment. <GGG>)
