James, I am all in favor of AMD investors being fully informed,
but you have taken 1 look at a picture and decided you know how the
cpu market will unfold over the next 3 years! A reality check is in
order. This is not intended as a putdown, but rather a realistic
evaluation. What is AMD's track record? The K5 was late, full of
problems and not competative. The K6 was late and full of problems
that have yet to be fixed. It is not competative with Intel's P6
generation. AMD process technology is at least 1 generation behind
Intel's and money is scarce for R&D. AMD just suffered a major
setback involving a patent dispute and the flash market seems to
be a problem for everyone. Witness Intel's earnings "disappointment"
due solely to weakness in flash.

Despite all this, AMD flips a few foils showing a picture of a
dummy package with K7 printed on it and you are convinced victory is
finally in AMD's hands. Get a grip, this is simply more of the BS AMD
has been shoveling for years now. Cusotmers aren't buying foils and
AMD is having real problems producing anything else.

If AMD investors are ever to realize a significant return on their
investments, AMD must stop trying to fight the holy war aginst the
evil empire and do what cyrix is doing. Seek a low cost solution.
