Posted by: Data_Rox Date: Wednesday, May 07, 2008 9:54:34 AM Some questions I'd like to see asked on the call.... What time frame should we look to for recognizing revenue from commercial shipments of SlimChip silicon? What is the profit margin target you have set for silicon products? Are you expecting cross licensing demands from our (potential) licensees to cover our use in our silicon or reference products? When does the company expect to be through certifications with the product? Once certified, how long before customers could ship commercially? Are there any device manufacturers currently testing the product for their own integration and sales (not just for network certification)? Is SlimChip targeting any phone platforms at this time or just focusing on cards/USB adapters and modules? Which specific baseband products from IFX and NXP is the company tracking for royalty revenue? Does the acquisition of NXP by ST Micro provide you additional opportunities or does it have negative impact to our relationship? Will IFX use the Comneon stack for LSI 3G customers? What is the revenue expectation (per unit or in total) that can be set for those relationships? Who is the new Asian chip supplier? Is the relationship more like NXP or IFX in nature? Has the company licensed any chipset manufacturers for TD-SCDMA? Are there any other semiconductor companies that IDCC technology has been transferred to? Rumors of IFX/Comneon licensing the stack to BRCM - any truth? Is NXP transferring IDCC HSDPA to T3G for China? How do we track that for revenue estimations? Which specific end products are using "licensed" semi products? Does the device manufacturer require a subscriber license with IDCC directly to be able to use those products? Is there any progress in acquiring an RF entity to integrate with IDCC offerings? On the statement that the company is recognizing ~$2 royalty per unit for 3G, is that for both CDMA2000 products and WCDMA products (equal royalty for both?)? Do you recognise ALL flavors of CDMA2000 as 3G? Are LG and Kyocera terminal shipments used in creating the $2 per 3G unit average or are those categorized as fixed payments for 2G/3G (and not 3G specific) so not part of the 60% of company revenue is 3G as stated? In the event IDCC has a fixed fee royalty payment license or a current royalty payment license with an OEM and also has a royalty payment license with an ODM that is manufacturing for the OEM under the "have made " terms of the license, what provisions, if any, are there to avoid duplicate payments? In addition, If an OEM has a "paid up" license in regard to a specific technology, are any licensed ODMs manufacturing those products still required to pay a royalty fee? What are your goals and strategy behind the $5M investment in Kineto? Is this near term or longer term ROI? It's been said that an industry norm is ~0.1% per "essential" patent plus some value for access to broader commercially important patents. Is this in line with company expectations? Higher or lower? Does the company believe they will license IP for LTE? If so, when do you expect the majority of that licensing activity to take place? Which specific 802 standards is the company receiving/expecting royalty revenue from? 802.16 (d,e), 802.20, 802.21, 802.11 (a-z), others. Please be specific. Is revenue based on selling price, per device, or blanket use? Is the company currently licensing WiMAX IP? When do you expect revenue from WiMAX? Do you favor broader Qualcomm-like patent agreements, or do you see the market need to slice and dice the covered technologies on a company by company basis?siliconinvestor.com Posted by: Data_Rox Date: Monday, February 23, 2009 9:44:43 AM Jim - thanks....that list was from last year, since then we've been hearing more about determination of slimchip silicon business, MIH, have had Samsung license without 802 technologies, etc. I thought that there may be more up to date questions to be asked involving those topics....maybe I was mistaken. and btw Mickey, since nobody else answered you...we do not get anything from TI in their sales of OMAP processors.
