Knighty, another way to look at the article is to conclude that the people of CA will go under unless the corrupt government goes under. i think you are right - they take the people down before they change their wayward ways.

just to show you how corrupt these CA politicians are, both dems and pubs are pimping propositions that will allegedly limit spending in CA (it doesn't b/c they just have to raise taxes to increase spending) BUT, if passed, it will extend the $12 billion a year tax increase two more years.

these corrupt politicians will not mention this salient fact in the voter summary. they just left out the $24 billion price tag to try and manipulate a win for their "side".
