FF, we are going down the toilet. they recently had a tax revolt off the some pier where they threw teabags into the ocean and i heard some folks were sending in wet teabags to their lying republicrook legislatures. it seems that "the ends justifies the means" mentality is in full force. as long as the people in power get what they weant, they can lie, cheat and steal and it is all good. there is no decency and moral play any more. proposition 1A will extend the $11 billion tax increases for an extra two years, BUT THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO MISLEAD THE PEOPLE BY OMITTING THIS FACT ON THE BALLOT INFORMATION BEING MAILED TO THE CITIZENS OF CA. calteaparty.com that's the BIG NEWS! the government blatantly lies to the citizens and doesn't expect any kind of recourse. does anyone care? this is blatant attempt to DISTORT the truth (lie, cheat and steal, wrapped into one), yet the ends (increasing taxes) seems to justify the means. don't get me wrong - the bushevics did the same thing. it is just that the democrats seemed to learn how effective his lies and distortions were at getting what he wanted, so they now apply the same principles and "WE, THE PEOPLE" are getting steam rolled. btw, i think i've said before that i'm a personal fiscal conservative. they won't hurt me too much if they doubled taxes to "feed the government beast" and double it again against falling legal population. i'll just trade up to a nicer house for $150k as they chase business and people out of this state. in effect, i'm moving up the "wealth ladder," even if that ladder is becoming smaller. but i know people that will be ruined by their lying, cheating and stealing tactics. badly. notice how most of the taxation hits the poor the hardest - car tax, sales tax increases do little to impact the the wealthy but can crush the working poor. remember, every single republicrook in this state, save one, signed a no new tax pledge in order to get elected. then they colluded to pick 3 assemblymen to "take the fall" (they will get termed out next election and arnold offered them a pork barrel position if they did his bidding - which is basically bribery with public funds, but who's counting, right?). when the one's who voted "no" on the tax increase were called out to remove the tax increase lying republicans, NONE OF THEM WOULD, B/C THEY ALL WANTED THE TAX INCREASE, THEY JUST DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. and arnold is spouting off how increasing taxes provides a "stimulus" for the economy. unbelievable. you are right, though. pelosi, reid and obama want to take the nation down the CA model of GM style government... so get prepared.
