We have two camps: do nothing or provide stimulus. There are arguments for both. If one chooses the latter, the government is the only stimulus provider left. Part is tax cuts, part is enabling easier credit from financial institutions, and the other is infrastructure to provide jobs and boost energy and education.
As for doing nothing, the cynic in me says that it is political suicide. The die is cast now. We will see if it works.
