Right, Jindal could have come out and said that the party was going to join with the President and those obnoxious Democrats in Congress because, hey, we are in a crisis and we always put country before party (LOL). He could have positioned them as the party that will be a part of the solution but with an eye towards watching that the money will be well-spent and the budget returned to a stronger footing asap.

He could have positioned the GOP as a CONSERVATIVE party (we're a bunch of cloth-coated accountants) instead of the EXTREMIST lunatic fringe (we're for-profit bible-thumping tinpot dictators) they've become.
