I was listening to Roubini the other night and the numbers around the world are pretty amazing. The contraction in the last quarter was really swift and deep from Singapore to Japan to Europe.

Nuts.

California is over 10% unemployment and there are pockets of the country where the official rate is over 15% but the unofficial rate must be around 20% and nearing GD levels of 25%.

Egads.

Now the rich are starting to slow down their spending because it isn't seemly and, heck, their assets aren't worth anything close to what the used to be probably down 50% from the bubble peaks in many cases.

Really stunning.

Right now, if the GOP had their way, there would be another huge transfer of wealth from those who lend to us to the ultra rich and Palin would be answering questions from the IRS.
