in what actions has he demonstrated that he is really truly better ork.

that's a very good question. I suppose I am as guilty as anyone of overlaying some hope on my rational thought.

I think O is a very smart guy who talks a good game. it's way too early to say he's going to succeed at things like bringing more transparency to gov't and reducing the influence of lobbyists. so far it is easy to find examples of where he has already failed at that.

but the task at hand is a herculean one which isn't going to be changed quickly. I think (hope???) part of the problem is that his advisers don't have the interests of the american people first in line. for example, why was turbo-tax timmy chosen? I'm sure his advisers thought he was the best man for the job. they weren't even in office yet and it was right as everything was collapsing. O's advisors certainly didn't have their arms around the problem but a lot of this is going to be trial and error.

I can certainly find plenty of areas where O has made other big mistakes. delegating the design of the massive porkulous to Pelosi and Reid was a huge error. I just hope that he's learning as he blunders along.

as far as I am concerned O is better than GW until it's proven that he isn't, and I think it's way too soon to draw any conclusions other than some of the forks in the road taken were the wrong ones.

just to be clear one more thought.

I hate the thought of a free-spending, high taxing politician, which is what O is. I think the main good thing about him is he seems to be a person who brings people together, which we need.

he's still a shitty politician which I despise. but he's exponentially better than GW.
