They may be democrats. That doesn't mean they are liberals, or that they have any interest in liberal causes. It seems to me big bankers are Bankocrats (or Bankokans)- they are interested in their own businesses, and not much else. If they live in blue states they will give to blue politicians, because blue politicians have the power to affect their businesses- as I said before, it doesn't seem to be an issue of ideology. Their ideology is power. If their banks were in red states, they'd give to red state politicians- as they do when they are in red states.
