I wish this were true. While AQ has been severely crippled it isn't dead. Nor is the quest for nuclear/chem/bio weapons that began in the early 90s.

These are not stupid people. They have bizarre beliefs, but they are not stupid people. The current economic crisis will, if anything, embolden AQ and the current administration's foolish abandonment of the War on Terror only makes us more susceptible.
