It really makes perverse sense. Actually, most of these earmarks are good projects. The question is, do they belong in this bill and is it really something the federal govt. should pay for or something the state or local govt. should pay for. For example, Paul earmarked funds to repair the Galveston seawall, which was damaged during Hurricane Ike. A good project and a needed one. But one of local interest, not national.

If they allowed casinos in Galveston, they'd have so much money, they could build that seawall like the Tower of Babel. <G> But, they want to keep their high moral status by begging instead of gambling.
