But it is myth to claim that Iran has somehow been a beneficiary here. Provided that Obama isn't as stupid as as he looks, there are going to be permanent bases right next door from now on. Maybe small ones, but big enough to serve the intended purpose. And even if he does manage to shut us out of Iraq, the as soon as he's out of office we'll have bases back over there the instant Iran makes a move toward Iraq.
