Is "Gateway Pundit" a COMPLETE IDIOT (incapable of reading and understanding the most simple of charts?) Or was his post a deliberate joke, (like I assume yours must have been?) Because the Rasmussen Poll most certainly DID NOT (and does not) say that "Obama Popularity Plunges-- Down 22 Points in 40 Days " LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rasmussen's latest daily poll reports 58% of all voters 'approve' (weakly or strongly) of President Obama's performance --- which is ENTIRELY CONSISTENT with other major pollsters (Gallup, FOX, CBS/Knowledge Networks, etc.) who's daily tracking polls have ranged between 59% and 69% approval numbers for the President at various times over the past few months. ALL THE POLLS --- including the one you post (Rasmussen) report fairly strong levels of support for the President, and EXTREMELY CONSISTENT support levels. As Rasmussen describes it: [strongly approve] That figure has remained fairly stable .... Go straight to Rasmussen and see: ----------------------- Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Monday, March 02, 2009rasmussenreports.com The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 39% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. That figure has remained fairly stable in the upper-30s for most of the past month. Following both national prime time television performances in February, the President enjoyed slightly higher ratings for a few days. Twenty-nine percent (29%) now Strongly Disapprove to give Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +10 (see trends). The number who Strongly Disapprove grew modestly from the low-20s early in February to the high-20s later in the month . Seventy-seven percent (77%) of liberals Strongly Approve of the President’s performance while 54% of conservatives Strongly Disapprove. Among political moderates, 42% Strongly Approve and 16% Strongly Disapprove (see other recent demographic highlights). The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve . It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter. Overall, 58% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far while 41% disapprove . For more measures, see Obama By the Numbers. The number of Republicans in the country increased a bit during February, but Democrats still retain a huge advantage in terms of partisan identification. Consumer and investor confidence fell to record lows in February. rasmussenreports.com NOTE: this chart is only showing the *strong* approvers and *strong* disapprovers (while the other charts, from different pollsters previously posted included those leaning in one direction or another... making the other pollsters results *entirely consistent* with Rasmussen's.) Get a CLUE, Peter: "total approval" is a DIFFERENT (more inclusive) number then just looking at the strongest, and most committed support! :-)
