While we shouldn't feel too cocky, it is clear that Bush seriously injured the organization. I agree about the non-linearity -- they are opportunists, as 9/11 proved. But Bush made it exceptionally tough for them.

The next attack will be chemical or biological, I suspect. And much more deadly than 9/11.

And there weren't any by them in the U.S. before that.

It does when it comes down to running out of resources. As I said, they couldn't come up with 30 guys for 9/11. There just aren't that many of them here.
