Kerry,

Well that is a great question and I am not in a position to answer it. I really do not even know their actual needs for new fabs for additional 64 meg as well as 256meg, etc. Traditional methods are to do as they already did with their $500mil debt. Also I recall when Appleton got fired by Simplot, the underlying reason was Appleton wanted to issue more stock...but Simplot felt it would drive it down from its lofty levels by diluting earnings.

Maybe you gave the best alternative by seeking a compatible Semi co. for a merger where there might be a synergy. Certainly they are in difficult times now with the weaking of Asian currency which led to this leg down. Their margins will be affected dramatically.

I believe others with more knowledge about this could give a more substantive answer. In any evet MU as well as other semis are now in serious trouble.

Good Luck Trading

DavidG
