You described this market accurately. But it could not be where it is, if the broken dealers/sec had to locate what they sold to get it here and the sec actually did its job enforcing laws governing stock issuance. The whole market is contrived. All part of the bigger scam, the same scam they've always run to facilitate churn, only now, the rationalizations betray a wider audience of participants. Bud Burrell claims the float of the market is equal or greater on the short side to the legit shares, meaning there is an abundance of counterfeit inventory doing the work. Madoffs firm was out there everyday making a market, but failed to make any trades at all....of course we know now he was a specialist in properly characterized air shares. My data confirm it, as i work in a narrow space of under 100 issues but have detailed the action on these for over 850 trading days, through good and bad....bottom line this market is contrived. everyone dropping by....thanks for your opinions, all rationalizations postured as hind sight or foresight are welcome....all return to self interest.......... the put call ratios are worthless because only the house knows how each positions accumulated sums are characterized. Sold Puts or Sold Calls differentiate through characterization....so gross data postured as historical truths is just more self serving pap.
