Agent says ousted Gov. Blagojevich has book deal, will talk Senate

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has landed a book deal, his publicist said today.

The ousted governor will focus on "the discussions, the considerations and the factors involved in picking" a successor to President Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate, according to a release from Blagojevich's publicity agency.

Blagojevich was arrested on Dec. 9 on federal corruption charges for, among other things, trying to sell the seat in exchange for campaign donations or other favors. He was convicted by lawmakers and removed from office in an impeachment trial a little more than a month ago.

His publicity agent, Glenn Selig, did not release details of the deal but said it was worth six figures. Blagojevich will expose the "dark side of politics" that he witnessed as a former congressman and governor, the release said.

Selig said Blagojevich chose to go with an independent publisher, Phoenix Books, because he didn't want content restrictions that might come with a major publishing house.

"There were some people in high places who didn't want the governor to write this book and worked to try to squash a book deal," Selig said in a release that offered no clues as to who might not want the governor to talk.

The book, with a working title of "The Governor," is scheduled for release in October.

What kind of special idiot who has her own business, and her husband is an attorney (for Obama yet) doesn't know you have to have licenses to do business in your home...AND you have to pay regular business taxes....It would be interesting to see just how much she wrote off on their income taxes for her "use" of their home as her office....
