Actually, it does. Monies held in reserve to cover declining market value of assets can be used for loans.

And the balance sheets are worse... we've been there and done that.


How would the balance sheets be worse if they are not marked to current market value? If you aren't going to sell the product in the current market, can't you mark the price on your balance sheet at which you acquired it?
