Good news for MRVC:

MUNICH, Germany, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC) said
on Monday that was aiming to quickly expand its network
technology business in the coming years.
Intel, in a statement released at the System 97 conference,
said it expected sales of network products to grow by an average
of 50 percent during the next five years. The segment had 1996
sales of 500 million marks.
The expansion in the network business will come through
acquisitions as well as through internal growth, Intel said.

Kovich, that was an edumacation whose bill almost came due. Snappy crappy thoughts of seeing 20 before 40, danced through my mind yesterday, & like many, last nites sleep came in fits, when at all. We were in for mayhem, but... which way? How in the heck are you supposed to play in a market that is trading on pure emotion? Myopicly focused on anticipated stellar earnings, resolute & focused on MRV fundamentals, I did nothing & walked straight into the market quicksand. Yesterday I felt as if a zombie being delivered to some macabe' Halloween sacrifice. Lastnite was a real gut check, an economic equivalent of 'the dark nite of the soul'. A bit o'prayer superseeded a bit o'panic, & I basically decided that the best action, was nonaction, doing nothing. Todays midmorning calvary charge, led by Big Blue(bless their kahunas),along w/the gazillions of individual investors, was beautiful.

Sounds as if the internet was a nightmare way to trade/purchase today for many, the 1 time I logged into Schwab, it was slow, did not accurately portray my acct. info. ect...without adequate info. it would have been hard to act/react responsibly.

The more I think of it, having MRV release on such a day allowed my to doublely stay focused on the fundamentals & not get caught in the muck! That may have kept me out of trouble. Great conference call & looking forward to some very strong earnings in the 4th. This babies gonna be rockin by Jan 98'.;-)

Congrats to Sector on his 'cherry' day trade!;-)
