Eastern Europe - we hae alreaady seen Japan put money inot the IMF to help Eastern Europe.

I expect China, Japan, and maybe some oil countries, and maybe the US or Canada to try to help stabalize at least some of the Eastern European countries.

Poland and the Chekzs are in good shape, help to them could act as a firewall to stop a spread to the rest of Europe.

There can be a payoff for help at this time - more influence in Eastern Europe, and in the EU.

just in in-tray from a astute moolah manager with much agility and trial by fire experience, managing public equity, bonds, and private equity, living free on money rock hong kong next to freedom mountain kowloon, not so far away from liberty isle macau, and i quote,

<<Not to worry.GS is the biggest AIG counterparty, that's the ugly untold story behind Paulson (Hank) choosing to bail them out while throwing Lehman to the wolves.JP is also ex-GS and would ,of course,be privy to this information. When the public, which is getting gang-raped continuously in this ongoing saga, comes to understand that the 'national interest' is in fact simply the interests of a few well-placed and wealthy guys who maneuvered to control the political throttle for their own benefit the National Guard may have to restore order. This is the financial equivalent of the rape of Nanjing.I'm just happy I gave up my US citiizenship in 1992.>>
