JQP,

We both have our share of worrying to do. Royal Oak is going downhill fast.

The city my mom lived in was Pleasant Ridge.

We were hit by some clever bandits last year. They had a team. Some would ring the bell and try to sell something. If you were not home they called thief crew and they came and hit your house.

One year and nine days and my contractual obligation is complete. I just hope I can sell my house for something.

Interesting how you two live so close. Have you met?

I'd love to see some of those pics. Somebody should document what's been happening...and what will...in that area. It strikes me that it's not unlike unlike New Orleans after Katrina: a slow-moving but absolutely crushing decomposition. Incredibly sad.

Detroit used to be the fourth or fifth largest city in the 60's. It has been a steady decline now since the riots in 1967. Some of those areas are still burned from that time and never restored. There used to be an inner city artist that would do on-site sculptures from the junk. Something Tyree. I'll try to find the pictures somewhere. His pieces were in the area of the Eastern Market.

My friends in Birmingham are frightened now as well. I have abandoned my idea of a summer townhome overlooking the Rouge creek there. MP

looked and found him.
