The craze took on a life of its own. Bubbles usually work that way.

All Bush did was give an "atta boy" to those responsible. It was ultimately his mess and his blame to bear, but that does not absolve anyone else of their share of the burden.

It really frosts me to see people take a mess that has bipartisan fingerprints all over it and blame one side for it. Especially those who should know better. Not only is that extremely shallow, it virtually guarantees we're not going to get out of this mess anytime soon.
