My neighbor said basically the same thing - that, at least in this town, they know everyone and those who would be there to support them. We're in a unique situation in that there's an airport along the entire north side of the town, the ocean along the west side, a refinery along the south side. On the east side, there are only 3 streets leading into the residential area that can be easily blocked off. This came in very handy during the riots when roving bands of troublemakers were looking for opportunities. The cops closed down the whole town. You could leave but you had to prove you lived here in order to get in.
