The WSJ opinion sections were incredibly favorable to, and uncritical of, Bush on pretty much every issue that mattered. They usually support the status quo. They are silent on chasing down the financial criminals who organized the frauds because these people advertise with them, buying full page ads. Who spits on their patrons?

I don't recommend the use of WSJ opinion as the foundation for a balanced and truthful world view that isn't simply crafted to make the corporate elite feel justified in pretty much any policy that they can formulate, be it removing regulation from banks, or telling us why H1B visas are required to support America's growth. They also told us that to survive, corporations had to export all their skilled and semi-skilled labor abroad, and failed to mention that the tax system was designed to encourage them to do it.

But, of course, we all know what enriches the Boards of the Fortune 500 is good for America.
