This current crop of looters seems to think that the goose will keep laying golden eggs even as it's being strangled. You can trace this back to the Roman Emperors if you like. Every Gov tries it. We look at the hyperinflation in various countries the last 100 years and think their Pols were stupid. They weren't. Wiping out the savings of the middle class rids them of the National debt. They know this will happen. And believe it's a good tradeoff when their backs are to the wall.
