He doesn't know how to use diplomacy:

The genius er, make that mindless stupidity of Obama

Clarice Feldman

JOM commenter Soylent Red hits the nail on the head respecting the preposterous flailing about of the President on foreign affairs:

Let me see here...

1. Tell the world during your campaign that you want to eliminate missile defense. Make one of your first acts in office reneging on a promise to a NATO ally regarding deployment of missile defense.

2. Then, in negotiations with Russia, try to get them to influence a country (Iran) where they have no real influence. Appeal to the better nature of a pair of Gazprom shareholders to piss off a country (Iran) where Gazprom is currently the 900 lb gorilla for lucrative oil and gasfield development deals.

3. In return for your proposal to Russia? Offer to reduce or curtail missile defense, which, if they simply wait around, you're going to do anyway. Because you repeatedly say so.

It's pure genius. I wonder if Obama thought this up himself, or if he had help from his foreign policy expert Joe Biden.

wanted to end the Iraq war

Is planning on drawing down gradually as we would have done anyway, given the success of the Iraq policy he opposed, leaving 50,000 troops in Iraq permanently.
---------------
wanted to bring transparency and accountability back to our government,

Thats why he keeps breaking his promises about posting everything on the internet 5 days in advance of his signing. Something he hasn't done on anything yet and clearly never intends to.

Thats why he is breaking this promise:

“We need earmark reform and when I’m president, I will go line by line to make sure we’re not spending money unwisely,” McCain said, reading back Obama’s words at a debate last fall. “That’s the quote, the promise of the president of the United States made to the American people in a debate with me in Oxford, Miss. So what is brought to the floor today — 9,000 earmarks.…So much for change.”

He farms out legislation to Pelosi, Reid and their crew of liberal dinosaurs, they write bills behind closed doors, withhold them from the Congressmen voting on them as well as the public (but not from the lobbyists who help write the legislation). This is the opposite of what he promised.

--------
wanted to take the tax structure back to a more equitable progressive structure

Whats progressive about carbon taxes that will hit EVERY American when they pay their bills and buy things? Thats the opposite of progressive.

Bush's was an extreme right administration

What was extreme right about the medicare prescription bill or the education reform he teamed up with Ted Kennedy, of all people, to write? What was extreme right about his immigration reform plan? Why didn't his extreme right administration reverse the mortgage policies the Clinton administration began?

I have to tell you that was not one of your better posts. I'm being generous in labeling it wishful thinking i/o something worse.
