Michael, let me put it another way.

With the biggest hike on the "rich" in decades, we're ensuring two things:

a) The rich remain a very exclusive club.
b) The number of rich people in this country shrinks, leaving behind only the super-rich.

It's not hard to see how this is going to happen if you keep an open mind and don't let class envy from clouding your judgement.
