Good to remember that Jesse Livermore made a fortune shorting the market in the 1929. Then went on to go broke buying stocks in the aftermath.....Maybe Leuthold's right, but I'll let the market tell me first.....


he also plugged a bullet hole in his head, once he realized his 'trading' profession was cooked....

let's face it....even bears need sustainable rallies to short into

i'm not totally convinced we are here yet, but what i find uncanny is the psychological underpinnings of major market crashes....

i remember too well my husband's grandmother telling us in the 1990's...."don't ever venture into the stock market, you'll lose everything"

if we haven't entered a generational loathing phase of equities quite yet, i fully expect we will...if you're a 20 year old, perhaps a good time to buy, but the majority of stakeholders in the boomer demographic will never see the old highs....never is a big word, and i understand that, but for now, i just don't see the catalyst to move stocks beyond a low trading range
