No, the Obama way of diplomacy is to tell the world we're going to end a program and then try to use the program as a bargaining chip. Thats simply STUPID! Diplomacy is when you keep the channels of communication open, even with your mortal enemies. We have channels of communication with our enemies. Obama sees that we need missile defense in Poland .... Russia is refusing to help stop Iran, and yet, they don't want a missile defense base on their borders. As such, we have powerful leverage to get their help to stop Iran. It sounds like you don't know that it was Bush who proposed missile defense in Poland. Obama has backed off from Bush's commitment and is currently officially undecided on whether to go forward. Though he claimed during the campaign that missile defense was unproven and pledged to end missile defense development, not just in Poland, everywhere. Medvedev also rejected linking the Poland missile defense issue with Iran. Why should the Russians help us with Iran? Not to kill the Poland missile defense system, cause they know Obama isn't gonna do it anyway. Smart diplomacy? No, brainless diplomacy. You don't show your cards and then use them to bluff someone. I think you should educate yourself about world affairs instead of just parroting liberal Democratic propaganda.
