During Port St. Lucie's boom, houses sprang up by the thousands as young and old flocked to the area, lured by affordable prices, open space and a bit of a slower lifestyle.

I can understand the "young" not flocking to Port St. Lucie, but what happened to the old.....the northern snowbirds? FLA may be starting to encounter some longer term structural problems in terms of population growth much like CA did starting in the late 1980s.
