see here i end up on your side. last post i told you what i objected to and what i found acceptable. What i dont like is the casual attitude folks on the left have to raising taxes on a class basis and without concern about its effect on growing the economy. Can you just even accept that a 5% increase in cap gains has no impact whatsoever and that 3% rate increase on end rate has little impact.

>Z, why not raise taxes even more then? How about a 75% tax rate for all income above $1 million?

>After all, we gotta make up for all the revenue that Bush starved the country out of. Not to mention that it takes money to jump-start the economy.

Yeah, I might be into that.

>Come on, Z! Keep hiking up those taxes! This country has nothing to lose but the "rich." And screw them anyway; they got us into this mess in the first place!

The country has thrived the most with the high marginal tax rates at higher tax brackets. Not a coincidence.

Maybe 75% is ridiculous; who knows? There are points where taxes are too high, and there are points where they're too low. They're too low now.

Why not? They screw us every chance they get.

I think the govt should limit salaries of all charitable organization's employees to one dollar. After all, it is for charity right? I'm sure Z would go along with it, though he might lose his $4k/mo apartment.
