yes and close to 50% of those earmarks for GOP members. Better check your facts. The GOP is just as bad on earmarks as the Dems. Remember, Obama doesn't control earmarks, the Dem Congress does. Then Obama has a choice. Stand on principle, or take the bad with the good in the interest of getting something done. When the earmarks represent 2% of the bill, and the rest is what you wanted, then it's better to let it ride and move forward. It's the big picture we need to stay focused on.

I have seen that McCain and Feingold are pushing for line item veto again. That will give Obama the power to cut the earmarks. Until he gets that, there will always be earmarks. The GOP and Dems Congress just love their pork.
