Automakers? A definite lead in technology for Japan, as GM
blew it with EV and has now blown itself up. Science lead?
I can tell you about that. Not yet. Nobody is better than
USA yet, but the progress in Asia in the last 10-15 years,
China and Japan in particular, has been enormous due to
their enormous funding. Unfortunately, Bush's presidency
amounted to a lost decade for the US in many ways. Cronyism?
Some form of mild totalitarian regime in the US in a form
of an attack on American freedoms?
That's right. It's not gone yet, unfortunately, but the
public outcry may push it out eventually.
