Interesting info re Canadian shares. Assume TD is still taking some thing over and above the charge on the trade. When you call up TD or any other broker the people you talk to usually have minimal knowledge. This is the problem in the internet age. The firms want the volume in customers brought with the internet, but they are unwilling to hire and train people to do the job. Also based on all law suits recently against Schwab, TD etc I would be very careful on any info given me by a broker especially over the phone: auction rate securities.
