A revolution, now, would not work. To many people have mixed premises Those in favor of freedom also favor bits of socialism. The result of a revolution would be unending civil war until one group of thugs was able to impose its version of fairness on the other thugs. What would not happen is country that Jefferson thought would result from the "occasional" revolution. The Enlightenment mind is gone. Jefferson could not imagine such a thing.
