Jim-thanks for restoring the mundane business of investment knowledge to the thread. The dismal science and abstruse engineering jargon along with interpretations thereof were on the verge of intellectual discussion. Lord knows all I want out of QCOM is the ability to load up an 18 wheeler with greenbacks and drive away into the sunset humming old John Denver tunes. I disagree with Maurice that the preferred explanation for how cdma works is magic. He forgets that a while ago we had already recieved a cogent explanation as to the cnetral operating mechanism of cdma--- it is chicken wire and bubble gum.

Seriously, thanks to the above denigrated economist and engineers who have very patiently explained some difficult concepts, enabling some of us to have a better insight into this investment and its future potential.

The potential for WLL in the former Soviet Union is enormous. Their current telephone infrastructure is reportedly terrible. Hopefully the mechanism for doing business over there will become easier as time goes on and as CDMA systems obtain recognition, the demand will increase.
