"And that its a racist move."

How so? Steele has failed to do basic, administrative chores and is coming off as a flake. Granted, his basic premise is correct, the Republicans need to broaden their appeal. But his methods leave a lot to be desired.

I didn't say it was racist but rather it will be viewed as racist. Putting Steele in as head of the RNC was not a smart move.....apparently, there was need for more vetting. However, once a party having a rep for racism makes such a move and then fires the guy one month later.......how do you think the world will view it?

Let me amend my comments above.......the more I think about it maybe there is an element of racism involved here. Howard Dean had been on the job several months when people became disgruntled with his 50 state approach, saying it was too costly and not worth it. However, I don't know of anyone who called for his resignation. With Steele, he may have had good reason to fire the RNC staff....we know how political and racist some of them are. He may have decided he couldn't work with them. And even if he is a flake, how often do people get fired after only one month on the job? After all, he was not an unknown quantity when he was hired. I bet if he were white this wouldn't get played out in the same way.
