Anyone know of one."] While the current US fiscal & monetary policies are "fundamentally" negative in the long term for the Dollar, the "mechanical" demand for Dollars are trumping that in the short term. And given the amount of US Dollar denominated debt that needs to be rolled over in Europe in the near future, that demand could grow even stronger. Such are the benefits of being the reserve currency. I would not be shorting the US Dollar here. Not yet. While Jimmy Rogers & Peter Schiff are 110% correct in their criticism of US policy... I think they're over-looking the "mechanical" demand for Dollars. I like both Rogers & Schiff, but I tend to think of them as more "big picture" guys, than traders. All though, Rogers is a proven Hall of Fame trader, I don't think his commentary is geared to short term swings. Of the mainstream gold guru's... I think Marc Faber has done a pretty damn good job on bobbing & weaving between being bullish and bearish on both gold, and the markets. US Dollar strength won't last forever, but in the near term, I think gold & gold stocks will give you plenty of bang for the buck vs. the US Dollar. Gold has rallied into US Dollar strength and oil & commodity weakness. We no longer need for the US Dollar to sink, or for Oil, or commodities to rise, for Gold to rise. I'll post more on that later this evening, or tomorrow morning, in regards to the upcoming G-20 meeting and TH's question from earlier today. Great day today for the gold stocks. We're back to HUI 285, and Gold is well above the bottom of it's trading channel. I've flipped most of what I bought into weakness over the last couple of days (that's why I bought 'em), but letting my core holdings ride. And as far as the broad market is concerned... is it my T.V, or are the faces of the CNBC pundits & guest getting whiter, and whiter, and whiter? I love Art Cashin, but he looks like he's seen a ghost. Mo later, SOTBPS: "Friends don't let friends be long the DOW, or S&P"
